About IRM

Background and Evolution
Integrated Revenue Management, Inc. (IRM), a national healthcare company based in Carlsbad, California, is a professional development and training organization. Since the incorporation of the company in 2000, IRM has remained focused on assisting healthcare providers to achieve economic excellence and self-sufficiency through an advanced business model based on organizational realignment and supported by professional development training programs. The financial consequences for those providers that have engaged IRM to collaborate in the development of an internal Revenue Management Department (RMD) have resulted, on average, in sustainable net patient revenue increases of 2% to 4%.
The RMD history began in 1995 at Scripps Health system in San Diego County in response to continuing industry pressures to preserve a positive bottom line. Then Vice President of Finance, Jack Duffy elected to take a dramatically different approach by placing as much emphasis on managing revenue as historically had been invested in containing costs. The success of this innovative method resulted in numerous speaking engagements where Jack was asked to share his vision and successful ideas with other hospitals and health systems. The ensuing industry demand led Jack to partner with Kathleen Craig and Bruce Short to form Integrated Revenue Management. IRM'S Founders have built an organization comprised of highly experienced, multi-disciplinary professionals that have trained, and continue to support, approximately 400 provider-associates on behalf of more than 30 acute care hospitals nationally.
