Integrated Revenue Management, Inc.

Company Founders

Jack Duffy, Founder

Jack Duffy, FHFMA

Jack possesses over 30 years' experience in the collection of consumer and medical debt. At the Scripps Health system, Jack served as the system Vice President of Finance with a focus on all aspects of the revenue continuum, not merely those administrative activities traditionally associated with Patient Financial Services (PFS).

Jack believes revenue to be a function of clinical events that must be managed through the effective coordination and training of both clinical and administrative staff. Not surprisingly, Jack also believes the most effective way to manage revenue is by defining and deploying a dedicated Revenue Management Department.

Bruce Short, Founder

Bruce Short

Bruce possesses more than 25 years of financial experience. He has served the healthcare industry as Auditor, Accounting Manager, Controller, Director of Internal Auditing, Revenue Consultant, and CEO.

A former professor of healthcare finance for the California University System, Bruce is perhaps most proud of his leadership of Hospital Billing Analysis, Inc. (HBA), a company he successfully expanded from three clients and eight employees in 1982 to more than 125 clients and 200 employees in 1991. Bruce's expertise in hospital billing practices, as seen through the eyes of the external vendor, have made him a strong advocate for improved hospital operations through better internal revenue management.
